About our instructor: Tara Witten
Tara believes in the value of health education. She believes that if you give a man a fish, he will eat for a day, but teach him to fish, and he will eat for a lifetime. (Either way, she recommends eating fish for all the omega-3 fatty acids!) Tara is a health and fitness professor at AACC and coaches at several local colleges. She has a passion for water aerobics and has been teaching it for 9 years. She is also a personal trainer. Tara believes that every day, you make a choice: to build health or promote disease. She wants to teach you how to make healthier choices while having fun in the pool.
Water aerobics classes will begin with a five minute warm up, followed by a shallow water cardio workout to burn fat. The class will then move down to the deep end to tone and strengthen the muscles. And will end with a five minute stretch. Every class is a little different, but they will always incorporate cardio and strength work. Can't swim or are nervous in the water? NO PROBLEM! Everything we do will either be in the shallow end or using flotation devices-all equipment is provided! All ages and ability levels are welcome-Tara will modify the class to suit your needs so that you get the best workout for you. See you in the pool!!
